WTO/SPS notifications
Draft maximum residues level (MRL) proposals that include measures to lower MRLs from those already in force may impact trade. Therefore, such proposals are subject to SPS (sanitary and phytosanitary) notifications of the WTO (World Trade Organization).
GB MRLs may be lowered following the outcome of:
- non-approval of an active substance
- MRL reviews
- the assessment of supplementary information (MRL confirmatory data) or when data is not submitted before the data submission deadline
You can search for WTO/SPS notifications on the WTO SPS Information Management System. You can narrow the search by searching for United Kingdom as the notifying member.
Defra is the UK's notification authority and enquiry point team and coordinates the UK's WTO/SPS notifications. You can find contact details on the WTO SPS contact database.
