With guidance on whether Local Environment Risk Assessment for Pesticides LERAP can be used.
Buffer zones for product applied with horizontal boom equipment
There will be some products which have buffer zones specified at distances greater than 5 metres as detailed in interim extension to LERAP scheme guidance. These are on a crop basis and can be searched for under "LERAP Category" via the Product search in the Pesticides Register Database.
Buffer zones for products applied with broadcast air-assisted spraying equipment
A number of products are subject to buffer zones when applied with broadcast air assisted spraying equipment. At present there is no search facility available to search for these products. Full details of the scheme are available in the Orchard scheme booklet -"Broadcast air-assisted sprayers: a step-by-step guide to reducing aquatic buffer zones" (pdf 14 pages).
This free booklet can also be ordered from Defra Publications.
