RIDDOR reporting of COVID-19
Reporting cases of disease, or deaths from coronavirus only apply where an employee has been infected through:
- deliberately working with the virus, such as in a laboratory
- being incidentally exposed to the virus from working in environments where people are known to have COVID-19, for example in health or social care

RIDDOR puts duties on employers, the self-employed and people in control of work premises (the Responsible Person) to report certain serious workplace accidents, occupational diseases and specified dangerous occurrences (near misses).
Incidents that happen in Northern Ireland should be reported to HSE NI.
