The BPR active substance lists for GB and NI combines separate lists of all the biocidal active substances under:
- the GB Biocidal Products Regulation (GB BPR) for Great Britain
- the EU Biocidal Products Regulation (EU BPR) for Northern Ireland
Select the tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet to choose the list you need.
Each list shows all the biocidal active substances under the relevant BPR that:
- have been approved
- are/were being evaluated
- have a non-approval decision
- are simplified active substances
You can check for:
- regulatory process (new, simplified, existing or Article 93 substances)
- name, number and product type
The EU BPR list is intended to help you follow the guidance on this website to access the Northern Ireland market. Official information on active substances under EU BPR can be found on the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) website.
The competent authority reports (CARs), where available, can be found on the ECHA website: Information on biocides - ECHA. Only decisions taken prior to 1 Jan 2021 are applicable in GB. Therefore CARs on the ECHA website relating to decisions published after this date are not relevant in GB.
