Details

All registered building inspectors in England must comply with the code of conduct. This document sets out the standards and principles of professional conduct expected of registered building inspectors by the Building Safety Regulator (BSR).

There is separate guidance on the professional conduct rules for registered building control approvers.

From 6 April to 6 July 2024 there is an extension period for experienced building inspectors in England who have not yet completed their competency assessment. More information about the extension period can be found in the code of conduct for registered building inspectors PDF document.
