Veterinary medicines: Safe use by farmers and other animal handlers
This revised leaflet is for farmers and other people who use veterinary medicines (including medicated feeds) as part of their work. It sets out the practical steps to take to protect the health and safety of anyone who works with veterinary medicines, and what you need to do to comply with the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 (as amended).
The leaflet includes a five-step process to carrying out a risk assessment, which covers:
- Information gathering
- Evaluating the risks to health
- Selecting the measures to prevent or control exposure
- Recording the assessment
- Reviewing the assessment
