Details

All registered building inspectors, public and private sector, must demonstrate competence against the building inspector competence framework. It sets out the necessary skills, knowledge, experience, and behaviours required of individuals performing their role as a building inspector registered with the Building Safety Regulator.

From 6 April to 6 July 2024 there is an extension period for experienced building inspectors in England who have not yet completed their competency assessment. More information about the extension period can be found in the BICoF PDF document.
