Extensive guidance for sites receiving tankers of liquid chlorine by road, rail or ISO means. Addressed primarily to installation managers but relevant for plant supervisors, design and maintenance engineers and safety professionals. Guidance application will help to minimise risks on and off-site as far as reasonably practicable.

In addition to general health and safety management issues, eg training, risk assessment, emergency procedures, the design and location of installations, maintenance and inspection, it also examines a multitude of detailed specifics including: potential incidents, installation siting, connections to fixed lines, pipework for chlorine and protection against overpressure, valves, vessels, vaporisers, absorption systems and leakage control. Also considers personal protective equipment, toxicology and the basic characteristics of chlorine.
