EU Offshore Directive Competent Authority

HSE and DECC, working in partnership, have formed the Offshore Safety Directive Regulator (OSDR), to act as the Competent Authority responsible for implementing the requirements of the EU Directive on the safety of offshore oil and gas operations.

A website has been created for OSDR, to provide information and guidance on its activities.

Offshore Directive Consultation

Consultation on the implementation of Directive 2013/30/EU on the safety of offshore oil and gas operations and amending Directive 2004/35/EC, and on the review of offshore Approved Codes of Practice and the updating of UK onshore oil and gas safety legislation to cover emerging energy technologies.

The consultation ended on 24 September 2014 and the Consultation Summary Report will be published in Spring 2015.
