Stage 3: Prepare notice

When preparing a notice, ensure:

• it is on the correct form
• it has a unique serial number
• it is legally correct
• the timescale for an improvement notice is at least 21 days but is set as short as possible consistent with the practicalities of achieving compliance
• you conduct a final quality check to ensure the details are correct, all the copies are legible, and they are signed and dated
