|Pre-sorting is used so far as is reasonably practicable to eliminate the need for hand picking in association with vehicles?
|Sorting areas are well lit?
|Non-essential personnel effectively excluded from area in which mechanical shovel operates?

|Effective segregation of pedestrians and tipping vehicles.
|Safe/ segregated/ protected zones established for totters to withdraw to before mechanical shovel approaches stockpile.
|Effective vision to the sides, front and rear of the vehicle visibility provided?
|Effective vision to the sides, front and rear of the vehicle maintained (ie mirrors and other aides in working order)?
|Driver able to see that totters are in a safe position before approaching stockpile?
