Substance evaluation
The 2023 update to the rolling action plan (RAP) was published in May 2023. Following this, HSE initiated an evaluation on one substance, N-butylbenzenesulphonamide. This evaluation is ongoing.
A decision was adopted with respect to the ongoing substance evaluation for paraffin waxes and hydrocarbon waxes, chloro (LCCPs), which was included on the RAP for 2022-2024 for evaluation in 2022. The concern that LCCPs meet the UK REACH Annex 13 criteria for being bioaccumulative (B) / very bioaccumulative (vB) and toxic (T) could not be clarified with the available information. As there were uncertainties regarding the identity of the registered substance, the decision requested information to clarify this as a first step.
