The safe operation of ski slopes

Date of publication:
October 2014
Series code:

This leaflet has been prepared in consultation with the British Ski Slope Operators Association. It is aimed at owners and operators of skiing facilities.

It will help with the safe running of skiing activities (including snowboarding and snowblading) as well as other slope-side activities such as tubing and sledging. The guidance covers facilities such as natural snow slopes, artificial ski slopes and indoor snow slopes. It does not cover equipment that uses fixed tracks, such as toboggan rides.

The revised version includes updated advice on current industry practice and what operators need to do to help ensure the safety of people using skiing facilities.
