Making an assessment

ART is made up of three features:

  1. The assessment guide – this provides detailed information about how to use the tool, the risk factors and the assessment criteria. It should be read carefully before using the tool.
  2. The flow chart – this provides an overview of the assessment process. It also guides experienced users through the tool fairly quickly.
  3. The task description form and score sheet – this provides a place to record information about the task as well as the findings of the assessment. It can be removed from the rest of the booklet if necessary.

The ART process involves: completing the task description form, following the flowchart and/or assessment guide to make an assessment, and completing the score sheet.
