Asbestos management in schools outside of local authority control 2013/14

In 2013/14 HSE inspected a randomly selected sample of 153 schools outside of local authority  (LA) control in England, Scotland and Wales as part of a coordinated inspection campaign.  The sample group included foundation, voluntary aided, independent, academy and free schools. The aim of the inspection project was to assess the level of compliance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Details of the intervention and findings are outlined in the following documents.
