CRR 442/2002 - The future health and safety implications of global positioning satellite and machine automation
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) contracted QinetiQ to undertake a study to investigate the state of the art of relevant technologies in GPS and mobile machine automation. The study would encompass their growth potential, use and future development and assess Health and Safety pros and cons in different operating environments.
The principal aims of this study is to inform HSE of the state of the art of GPS and mobile machine automation and to ensure that any new system can be assessed by HSE for safety during design, operation and maintenance of such a system.
