OMAR Operations and Guidance

Since the UK left the EU, the Offshore Major Accident Regulator (OMAR) is now the UKs Offshore Competent Authority (previously known as the Offshore Safety Directive Regulator (OSDR). How HSE regulate the offshore industry stays the same. Our guidance will be updated to reflect this change.

This section provides guidance and information about legal requirements and administrative arrangements. It also provides information about the roles and responsibilities within OMAR delivering the Competent Authority (CA), and the procedures used by inspectors to carry out their work.

OMAR is committed to providing transparency in both its decision making and operational activates and will aim to place all of its key guidance online.
