UK Government Nanotechnologies Strategy

HSE developed and agreed its own strategy in 2009. This can be viewed at HSE's contribution to the Government's Nanotechnologies Strategy and is currently under review.

HSE will support a programme of research work to understand the risks presented by nanotechnologies so that it can advise on the adequacy of existing occupational regulatory frameworks and the regulation of the emerging risks.

In March 2010, the UK Government launched "UK Nanotechnologies Strategy: Small Technologies, Great Opportunities".

This Strategy represents a cross-Governmental approach to the management of nanotechnologies and, for the first time, brings together all Government efforts on the subject into a single consolidated and strategic document. We await to see the new Government's stance on this issue.
