Managing and working with manufactured nanomaterials

The existing UK regulatory framework, including the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974,  is seen as sufficiently covering the safe use and handling of manufactured nanomaterials. The applicable regulations are:

• Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (COSHH)
• The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmospheres Regulations 2002 (DSEAR)
• Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation & restriction of CHemicals (REACH)
• Using nanomaterials at work
