Case 177 - Bicycles banned from postal delivery office

A postal enquiry office has banned customers from bringing bicycles inside the premises when they collect their mail/parcels. This is a new policy and the complainant is questioning if it is reasonable.

Panel decision

The panel view is that the decision to ban bicycles from inside the collection area is a reasonable one given that other people could trip over or be hurt by the cycles especially in busy times. It is not clear why this change has been implemented at this time but that does not make it unreasonable. The Post Office have not explained clearly enough the reason for their decision.
