Case 22 - Royal Mail Depot customers told not to use car park for health and safety reasons
A Royal Mail Depot changed its car parking procedures. Customers (who were left cards due to unavailability) were told they could not use the car park pick up their parcels for health and safety reasons.
This was primarily an operational decision by Royal Mail, anticipating a greater need to use the depot car park for their own vehicles and the increased risk to customers as a result of this. The reference to health and safety was misleading. Royal Mail has now removed this from their courtesy cards, which is appreciated.
