Controls within the organisation - the role of supervisors

The actions of leaders, line managers and supervisors are all important in delivering effective control of health and safety risks. Those actions are covered in Are you doing what you need to do?. This part of the site complements that by focusing on supervisors.

Organisations will decide their own approach to supervision. Whatever method of supervision is used, the role of a supervisor or team leader is important in implementing effective controls. 

Because of the regular contact they have with workers, they can make an important contribution to making sure:
