Mining Industry Committee (MIC)
Formerly the Deep Mined Coal Industry Advisory Committee (DMCIAC)
The primary role of this body is to provide a forum for the Mining Industry to maintain and improve major hazard controls and standards of health and safety.
The Safety and Health in Mines Research Advisory Board (SHMRAB)
To advise on current and future research needs for the protection of people at work and others from hazards to their health and safety and to provide information, advice and guidance on research matters relevant to improving standards of health and safety within the deep mined coal industry.
Escape and Rescue Operations in Mines Working Group
To advise on matters concerning the organisation and conduct of mines rescue and recovery work and fire fighting, and on the design, testing and improvement of apparatus for those purposes.
