Written by the Outdoor Education Advisers’ Panel for Wales and the Health and Safety Executive together with input from all sectors involved in off-site visits for young people, the All Wales Guidance for Educational Visits has been welcomed across Wales by teachers, youth leaders and their employers. The Guidance seeks to minimise bureaucracy in terms of planning, organisation and approval with a single national framework for teachers and those involved in visit management.
"School trips are an essential part of every child's education and by not finding a way to make them happen we are failing in our duty to prepare them for life” said HSE Chair, Judith Hackitt.
The guidance is not intended to be used as a hard copy, but to be used as an on-line "live" guidance tool that will be updated regularly as required. The guidance is freely available on line at the Welsh Assembly Governments website.
