Unrepaired walkway causes employer thousands

The NHS trust was recently prosecuted following an accident involving a catering assistant.

A hole had been dug in a busy access route to the hospital kitchen and restaurant. Five months later it had still not been repaired or protected. The assistant tripped and fell into the shallow hole sustaining injuries that kept her off work for several months.

The trust was fined over £7000 and served Improvement Notices.
