HSE banner

HSE templates

There are three basic layouts for the HSE website. One, two and three column pages.

Two and three column pages are the most commonly used. This page is a two column page. The banner and footer are on every page.

Examples of the different page layouts

1 column pages

Use one column layout only when the content is too wide for a two column page, e.g. when publishing tables with many columns or large images.

2 column pages

The two column layout should be considered the default layout for web and intranet pages. It produces a line length that is easy and comfortable to read and allows easy microsite navigation.

3 column pages

The three column layout should be used for homepages, where you provide cross silo linking through the drop downs and/or by related links, adverts and hot topics.

Development

Dreamweaver templates are available to members of the Rebranding group. If you wish or need to join the group please contact HSE Online.

Colour

Colour is controlled through the use of the correct stylesheet for that page, e.g. use tblue2005.css for an industry page.
