Images in the right hand column can be used for navigation or to emphasise a particular point.

• Images must always be 180 pixels wide. If they are too wide then the right column will wrap below the main content.
• Remember the effect of banner blindness when designing right hand navigation.

Navigation in the right column

When images are used for navigation form the right column then they should be coded with <ul class="advertlist">. This style adds a light border and a light background colour on hover. To gain full advantage of the hover, you'll need a transparent background (which rules out jpgs).

Try to make layout consistent, for example, always have an image on the left and text on the right, or vice versa.
