The latest information for Wales shows a downtrend trend in workplace injury but no clear trend in rates of work-related ill health.
- Ill Health: 55 000 people suffered from work-related illness, a rate of 3 940 per 100 000 people working in the past 12 months (LFS).
- Injuries: There were 5 863 reported injuries to employees, a 4.4% decrease from the previous year (RIDDOR).
- Injury rates: Total rate of reported injury fell to 519.2 per 100 000 employees, compared with a five year average of 586.2 (RIDDOR).
- Working days lost: 1.9 million working days were lost due to workplace injury and ill health, 1.7 days per worker (LFS).
- Enforcement: HSE inspectors issued 626 notices and prosecuted 43 cases, 39 of which led to a conviction (91%).
