South East government office region (GOR)
The latest information for the South East shows a downward trend in both work-related ill health and workplace injury.
- Ill Health: 187 000 people suffered from work-related illness, a rate of 4 200 per 100 000 people working in the past 12 months (LFS).
- Injuries: There were 13 286 reported injuries to employees, a 4.5% decrease from the previous year (RIDDOR).
- Injury rates: Total rate of reported injury fell to 383.3 per 100 000 employees, compared with a five year average of 427.6 (RIDDOR).
- Working days lost: 4.0 million working days were lost due to workplace injury and ill health, 1.1 days per worker (LFS).
- Enforcement: HSE inspectors issued 1 004 notices and prosecuted 51 cases, 50 of which led to a conviction.
