The latest information for London shows a downward trend in workplace injuries but no clear trend in rates of work-related ill health.

• Ill Health: 168 000 people suffered from work-related illness, a rate of 4 100 per 100 000 people working in the past 12 months (LFS).
• Injuries: There were 13 146 reported injuries to employees, a 5.7% decrease from the previous year (RIDDOR).
• Injury rates: Total rate of reported injury fell to 361.1 per 100 000 employees, from compared to a five year average of 403.7 (RIDDOR).
• Working days lost: 2.9 million working days were lost due to workplace injury and ill health, 0.9 days per worker (LFS).
• Enforcement: HSE inspectors issued 1 213 notices and prosecuted 40 cases, 39 of which led to a conviction.
