The latest information for the East Midlands shows a downward trend in workplace injuries but no clear trend in rates of work-related ill health.
- Ill Health: 89 000 people suffered from work-related illness, a rate of 3 900 per 100 000 people working in the past 12 months (LFS).
- Injuries: There were 9 735 reported injuries to employees, a 3.9% decrease from the previous year (RIDDOR).
- Injury rates: Total rate of reported injury fell to 550.8 per 100 000 employees, compared to a five year average of 596.0 (RIDDOR).
- Working days lost: 2.4 million working days were lost due to workplace injury and ill health, 1.3 days per worker (LFS).
- Enforcement: HSE inspectors issued 781 notices and prosecuted 60 cases, 56 of which led to a conviction.
