East Midlands government office region (GOR)
The latest information for the East Midlands shows a downward trend in workplace injuries but no clear trend in rates of work-related ill health.
- Ill Health: 92 000 people suffered from work-related illness, a rate of 4 030 per 100 000 people working in the past 12 months (LFS).
- Injuries: There were 9 351 reported injuries to employees, a 4.6% decrease from the previous year (RIDDOR).
- Injury rates: Total rate of reported injury fell to 527.6 per 100 000 employees, compared to a five year average of 571.3 (RIDDOR).
- Working days lost: 2.5 million working days were lost due to workplace injury and ill health, 1.4 days per worker (LFS).
- Enforcement: HSE inspectors issued 779 notices and prosecuted 70 cases, 66 of which led to a conviction (94%).
