Injury analysis - priority programmes
The Revitalising health & safety strategy (RHS) was launched in June 2000. One of the three targets under RHS was to reduce the incidence rate of fatal and major accidents by 10% by 2010.
In order to achieve this target, three injury priority programmes were established focussing on the following:
- Slips and trips
The most common cause of major injury - Falls from height
The most common cause of fatal accidents - Workplace transport
Accidents related to vehicles in the workplace which often result in fatal or major injury
