What’s new in slips and trips
- STEP used in Vocational Training
- Shattered Lives success
The latest phase of the Shattered Lives Campaign recently finished and proved to be more successful than ever in raising awareness, sharing key messages and encouraging people to find out how to prevent and manage slip, trip and fall from height risks at work. This year’s particular focus was on reaching those responsible for health and safety within the Health and Education sectors. Activity included the launch of a new campaign website, trade press pieces, a podcast, trade magazine inserts, advertorial features and a direct mailing campaign, which reached over 260,000 businesses. The mailing pack included a letter, poster and “danger” display sign, which proved so popular that we received over 14,600 additional requests for “danger” display signs within 3 weeks of the original mailing. We also developed four new radio advertisements, which aired on 165 radio stations across the country, reaching over 5.5 million listeners. Throughout the campaign employers were encouraged to visit the new Shattered Lives website, specifically one of our two specialist e-learning tools: STEP (Slips and Trips elearning Package) or our new e-tool, WAIT (Work at height Access equipment Information Toolkit). During the campaign, over 150,000 people visited the new Shattered Lives website and our new etools STEP and WAIT received 33,000 new visitors. We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who visited the Shattered Lives campaign website and to all those whose continued support helped make it so successful.
