Skin infections, infestations and insect bites may be occupational in origin:
- bacteria (anthrax);
- viruses (orf);
- fungi (tinea pedis in miners);
- yeasts (candidal paronychia in wet workers);
- arthropods ('grain itch' from mites);
- Protozoa (Leishmaniasis in soldiers posted to South America).
