to a painful slip at work. He had high hopes of leading his team mates to victory this year, but instead he’ll be stuck in the
stands as a spectator.
Gary feels let down by his company, after all his accident could have been so easily avoided.
Facing a new life
Gary’s knee was shattered during the fall and he suffered a fractured skull. He had to have a pin inserted into his knee cap to ease the problem, but Gary was left with a permanent limp. He lost total trust in his company and left his job just 3 months after returning to work.
On the sidelines
Gary was an avid footballer and played for his local team. His injury left him out of the team for a season, he was keen to get back on the pitch, but soon realised his playing level would never be the same.
A huge fine
Gary’s employer had been aware of the ice build up before his accident, but failed to do anything about it. They were fined £15,000 for their negligence.
Store room improvements
As result of the accident Gary’s employer changed the door to the cold store, which would have saved them money if they had done it earlier.
