Brenda’s accident turned her world upside down
She endured severe pain from a deep cut and broken ankle. Brenda had to live off a reduced sick pay and slowly fell into debt. The whole family suffered, which left Brenda really depressed.

Brenda returned to work on a part time basis for the short term. The cut in pay heavily affected Brenda’s life, she could no longer afford her family holiday and their Christmas now looked bleak.

Brenda’s employer realised the impact of their negligence on Brenda’s life, they consequently brought new equipment to prevent future oil spills.
A huge fine
Following an investigation Brenda’s company took full responsibility for the accident, they were fined £15,000 and paid £9,000 in costs.
