RR396 - Research into the behavioural aspects of slips and trip accidents and incidents

The purpose of this document is to outline in detail the focus, approach and initial findings of the literature review being undertaken by Rossmore Group on behalf of the Health and Safety Executive. The focus of this paper is to investigate and critique the literature available on slips, trips and falls and the behavioural aspects that contribute to these accidents occurring, both in the workplace and inpublic areas. The literature review will also highlight factors that have not been explored with explicit reference to slips, trips and falls but that may point towards areas for future research.

This report and the work it describes were funded by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Its contents, including any opinions and/or conclusions expressed, are those of the author alone and do not necessarily reflect HSE policy.
