Research is a Key Business Activity for the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate. This activity is the process of identifying, commissioning, and promulgating the results of research into nuclear safety issues so that licensees and the NII have the scientific and engineering knowledge to make judgements about the adequacy of safety measures.
