Applications are initially to be screened by either member states competent authorities or one of the industry bodies represented on the review group. If an application passes the screening stage, then it will be forwarded for consideration for inclusion in Annex IV. The final decision on inclusion will be made under European Commission voting procedures and will be subject to scrutiny by the European Parliament.
The deadline for applications for inclusion onto Annex IV has now passed. No further applications can be accepted. The applications will now be reviewed and recommendations for inclusion in or deletion from Annex IV will be made to the European Commission by 28 February 2008. Those companies who have submitted an application via the UK competent authority will be informed of its progress.
