L131 - Approved Classification and Labelling Guide (Sixth edition) – Withdrawn from 1 June 2015

Chemicals (Hazard Information and Packaging for Supply) Regulations 2009 (CHIP 4)

The CHIP Regulations were revoked from 1 June 2015 and no longer have legal effect other than for a minor provisions relating to data retention.  All supporting guidance on CHIP has also been withdrawn.

Chemical suppliers should not apply CHIP to classify, label or package the chemicals or chemical products that they place on the market.

The European CLP Regulation replaces CHIP.  Chemical suppliers should ensure their chemical products comply with CLP.
