Standards of training in safe gas installation. Approved Code of Practice

Notice of withdrawal COP20

Having consulted in accordance with section 16(5) of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974, and with the consent of the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, the Health and Safety Executive’s approval of the Approved Code of Practice entitled Standards of training in safe gas installation: Approved Code of Practice (COP20) will cease to have effect on 1 April 2014. The Code will be withdrawn on that day.

Approved Code of Practice and guidance on the scope of training and the need for proper assessment/reassessment of gas engineers can now be found in Part B of Safety in the installation and use of gas systems and appliance: Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations: Approved Code of Practice and guidance L56.
