This guidance is about preventing transport-related accidents to people who work at or visit a range of waste management and recycling facilities where there is a potential to come into close proximity with moving vehicles.

It is targeted at employers, managers and supervisors of a range of waste and recycling facilities such as landfill sites, recycling plants, waste transfer stations and waste treatment facilities.

The guidance provides advice on how to assess the main hazards associated with transport-related activities and practical examples of how to eliminate or reduce risk of serious injury or ill health.
