Contact dermatitis is inflammation of the skin caused by contact with a range of materials. These include detergents, toiletries, chemicals and even natural products like foods and water (if contact is prolonged or frequent). The hands are most commonly affected, but can affect all parts of the body.
The leaflet is about contact dermatitis at work. It is aimed at employers, safety representatives, trainers and safety advisors.
The leaflet shows you what to look out for and how to prevent dermatitis. It also tells you where you can find more detailed practical advice for specific jobs and workplaces.
