Control of legionella - DVD

Legionella microbes

A compilation of films covering the risks and how they can be minimized.

This compilation contains an introductory film, originally published on video by HSE Books in 2003, and two films previously not available to the public which are used for the training of HSE and Local Authority inspectors.

The three films are:

  • An introduction to the control of legionella bacteria in water systems;
  • Control of legionellae: Part 1 Cooling tower systems; and
  • Control of legionellae: Part 2 Hot and cold water systems.

The first looks at the two main risk systems in turn and explains how the risks from exposure should be managed and controlled.

Control of legionellae part 1 on cooling tower systems describes the microbiological risks associated, how they can be minimized, plus advice on inspections.

Control of legionellae part 2 on hot and cold water systems describes how legionella bacteria grow in these systems, how hot and cold services are engineered, and how good design can help to control legionella.

Parts 1 and 2 may refer to superseded legislation etc, but give a useful overview of the subject.

Run Time: 66 Minutes Approx.
