This Approved Code of Practice gives practical guidance on the law relating to protection against inrushes. It explains the duties of mine owners and managers relating to the prevention of inrushes.
It covers precautions against inrushes and gives guidance on investigation, identification, and assessment of inrush hazards and the procedures to be followed in working under the sea and other surface water.
Relevant regulations from the Mines (Precautions Against Inrushes) Regulations 1979 and the Management and Administration of Safety and Health at Mines Regulations 1993 are reproduced for reference.
