This Approved Code gives practical guidance on regulations 5 and 6 - as cited here - of the Regulations also known as CHIP 3. This Code replaces that approved under CHIP 2, with principal changes reflecting inclusion of pertinent texts, repositioning of a former appendix into the main body, clarification issues and additional guidance as a result of these amendments.
Addressed to manufacturers, importers, distributors and other suppliers of substances and preparations on their responsibilities when providing safety data sheets. It explains when to provide such sheets, to whom and the information they should contain. Styled presentation (eg bold, italics, colour-coding) enables easy distinction between texts pertaining directly to the Regulations, those of the Approved Code or the additional guidance as provided.
