Contains the Approved Code and guidance aligned to the Regulations - relevant citations of which are given - which reflect HSE research showing that accidents involving machinery account for one quarter of all those reported in woodworking. This is addressed to those with responsibility and/or control, directly or indirectly, for such machinery and its use. In addition to practical advice on safe use of machinery, this also documents subjects such as the provision of information, training and aspects of guarding.
Applies to most woodworking machinery except hand-held tools and encompasses operations involving wood, corkboard, fibreboard and composite materials. Styled presentation (eg bold, italics, margin coding) enables easy distinction between texts pertaining to the Regulations, the Approved Code and additional guidance provided.
HSE has recently consulted on proposals to review its Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs). Details of proposals and the outcome of the consultation are available.
