Short but intensively specific guidance aligned to the Regulations regarding stored fuel for use in any internal combustion engine. The ACOP covers requirements, type testing, productions testing, marking or labelling and test methods.

The range examined by the requirements section is the most extensive and covers six key aspects: materials; capacity and design; strength (impact resistance, internal pressure and stress cracking); tightness of closure; permeability; and weight and wall thickness. The test methods then deal with each of these regulatory requirements in turn. Although the containers to which this applies are not intended for direct sunlight storage, it expects that their construction should include adequate ultra violet radiation stabilisation if so kept.
