Safe use of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) in agriculture and forestry

This revised information sheet covers the two main ATV types used in off-road working in agriculture, forestry and other land-based industries: sit-astride ATVs and side-by-side ATVs. It covers the hazards of both vehicles and the control measures recommended for each.

It informs employers of the legal requirement to provide employees with adequate training in the safe use of ATVs. It also covers issues such as maintenance, personal protective equipment, route planning and carrying passengers.
