HSE responds to The Sun article "Muddy idiots"

Dear Sir,

Eastenders often has pretty bleak storylines, but nothing depressed me more than your story, Muddy Idiots (26/02/13).

Risk assessments are useful in protecting workers from real dangers - but I'd be very surprised if there were nine pages of serious work hazards facing a film crew in a Watford park.

Good health and safety relies on common sense and keeping things in proportion. The drama is supposed to be in front of the camera not behind it.

Yours faithfully,

Judith Hackitt
Chair
Health and Safety Executive
